Dear Maker Enthusiasts!!
Hello! I am the librarian at Mt. Nittany Elementary School. This year we are continuing our Makerspace in the library for our second year! It has been a fun experience for the students, and I think that it has the potential to keep growing to offer a greater variety to their educational opportunities. I’d love to get skills like sewing, rocketry, robotics, gardening, and bike repair into the mix. Please see our Makerspace site for some basic information and a list of recent activities.
As local maker experts, we were wondering if you would be interested in coming to share and participate in the adventure?! Students rotate through pretty quickly after their lunchtime, so we are looking at hands on, interactive stations more than in depth instruction or completed products. Still, hopefully there is a way to share your interest and skills to get them Making!
We have no real budget this year, but would happily promote your site and any upcoming events to our interested students. If this sounds possible, let us know which Monday from ~11:30 to ~1:15 might work for you. Repeated weeks would be ideal to allow each of the three teams to participate, but we will gladly share when you can. Check out the upcoming calendar to pick a date! Contact me if you wish to talk and think through this further.
Thank you for considering this opportunity!
